I do not understand what the reason for this word's/concept's proposal. Also, the example does not help me understand it.

"I (compared to you) is big." Other valid translations: "mi zmadu do lo ka barda" (but this implies some scale thus zmadu4 needs to be deleted probably with zi'o) "mi poi zilkarbi do zi'o zi'o cu barda"
Both alternatives are bulky.

I also can imagine use with total-/partial-ordered sets. Either things compare or they do not.

I also thought of "mi barda ma'i do" but this is kinda tokiponish if not worse.
