I know. I think it should have. It's just a matter of giving a place for what is already officially recognized as "personality/a persona" about prenu.

I'm not sure I understand you right. What is it about prenu that is officially recognized as "personality/a persona"? And we can't "give" something a place; the place structure of a gismu is fixed.

One of the official definitions of prenu is "x1 displays personality/a persona". Two arguments are officially recognized/identified here: the displayer, and the displayed. This "personality/a persona" is not defined for its place, but it's the second argument mentioned in the very official definition; so, if prenu were ever to have an explicit x2, it would be this argument. The meaning of selpre should be sufficiently predictable from the conventional definition of prenu. This is not so much changing the place structure as defining the place of an already officially identified argument within the established definition.

But you agree that prenu does not currently have an x2?
That would mean changing the definition of prenu, and Jbovlaste is IMHO not the right place to argue about that. I suggest you bring it up on http://www.lojban.org/tiki/BPFK+Section:+gismu+Issues.
