notes Semi-obsolete/re-assigned; instead see: "ku'i'a". Alternatively represented by epsilon or lambda (but does not refer to the empty string). ".a'y by zai'e" is equivalent to ".a'y by", "pa re zai'e" is the same number as "pa re". See also: zai'o (which in some contexts can refer to the empty string).
