Definition #73203 - Preferred [edit]

definition x1 (nu) is a conversation/dialogue/exchange/scene/series of communicative responses/series of expressions/series of messages/exchange of information event between participating speakers x2 (ordered list; ce'o) and passive or active audience members x3 (set; may repeat elements of x2) in languages x4 (use "fa'u" if desired) and via expressive media x5 (use "fa'u" if desired) in which the following utterances/messages/expressions are, in/according to frame of reference x6, made/sent or received in approximately the following chronological order: x7 (sedu'u/text/quote/lu'e concept vel sim.), x8 (sedu'u/text/quote/lu'e concept vel sim.), x9 (sedu'u/text/quote/lu'e concept vel sim.), ... (open-ended terbri structure of arbitrarily many sumti slots).
notes x7 and all subsequent sumti (in the ordering herein presented) are communications/messages/expressions or quotations or similar. Some amount of alternation or serialization, exchange, cross-talking, linguistic back-channelling, or other organized serial communication which involves these sumti is implied, although this word can also be used when their are interruptions, overspeaking/instances of (partially or totally) speaking over one another (including cross-chatter which may be at least partially indecipherable), general noise or confusion in the environment (in which case the supplied sumti are the utterances which were picked out and understood from the crowd by the user of this word in approximately sequential order and which may not be in dialogue with one another at the time of their transmission), or other punctuatedly-disorganized communication or disorganized communication with punctuations of organization or comprehensible transmission. Subscript the quotes, expressions, etc. (id est: xi for i > 6) with numeric indices (starting with 1) or letteral codes for the member(s) of x2 who/which uttered the quote/expressed the utterance or expression, if such is desired by the user; indices may be repeated or omitted (or toggled on and off as the user finds desirable). This word is intended to allow multiple quotations or expressions to be strung together without much intervening structure (hence the front-loading and open-ended structure), thereby enabling certain implications of pacing, as well as ease of reference to dialogues via their quotations. Utterances need not be fully distinguished and non-overlapping, but the order of presentation is approximately that of their perception or the desired order or presentation (as in so-called Lojbanic 'story time'/narrative tensing) by or according to the user; in order to indicate simultaneity or mixing, perhaps uses connectives for the relevant expressions. The type of quote or nature of the selbri which fills the seventh and subsequent sumti slots can indicate various pieces of information such as translation, uncertainty, summarization, etc. by the user, grammaticality by the utterer, etc. See also: ".alcu", "tcuskuue", "cusku", "casnu", "ca'u'e". Open-endedness of terbri structure is rather like that of "jutsi" but instead indicates chronological serialization, rather than hierarchical or graph-theoretic structure.
