Discussion of "axlte"

Curtis W Franks (Thu Jan 23 03:04:20 2014)

"x" in Nahuatl is essentially equivalent to "c" in Lojban. Moreover,
attempt to retain English recognition would fail in this proposal because
"x" in Lojban is not pronounced as "x" is in English ("ks" in Lojbanic
rendering).

Also, "avocado" is proposed to be grutraxuakatlu based on "ahuacatl" (in
Nahuatl). While I have issues with that rendering, I figure that we should
systematically render Nahuatl words: if we are including the noun
declension "-tl" (which is not part of gismu making, but that does not
necessarily need apply here), any Nahuatl word ending with "-tl" should be
borrowed and end with either "-te" (as was done here) or "-tlu" (as was
done with "avocado") in Lojban.
