Do (lateral or other) fins count? If we think in terms of fluids rather
than gases, the ideas may merge. But I am not an expert in their anatomy
nor function.

The definition here hints that the wing need only be a supporting surface,
not necessarily one used in order to propel the body(/machine)
forward/upward. An airplane's fixed wings are as much nalci as a bird's
