Basically the first gismu such that I realize that we need a version of it
with one (or more) slots removed. In the specific case of dansu, the
mere existence of the second slot makes the predicate inapplicable to
situations where one is not dancing according to an external
accompaniment, music or rythme. Using zi'o would be required, i.e.
dansu zi'o. "dansu" is a more specific concept that "dance" is in
English. The addition of .ansu fills the gap of accompaniment-less
dancing, which doesn't mean that dansu with its second slot is not
useful, of course.

I hadn't thought of jansu and ransu at all when chosing ansu as the
word form; if people find it annoying that several gismu could correspond
to the ismu form "ansu", I could instead assign to that meaning some
a-priori form, i.e. a so-called blalalavla. :)

Interesting. I suppose you're aware of the rafsi for zi'o being "zil". So
zildansu would be equivalent, though not as brief, and could be applied to
any other gismu for that matter.

zil- is usually interpreted as applying to the first slot of the source
predicate, so people would expect at first blush to see zildansu to mean
"x₁ is a music/rythme on which there is dancing"; zilseldansu would be
more explicit but longer.
