I do not know!

I would advise against just borrowing the word "hyperbola" as "xiprbola"
or something like that (anything with a transparent and strongly European
etymology). I would even more strongly object to calquing it, although
there is actually (and, I believe, only incidentally) a physics-al logic
to it.
I suppose that I would say that it maybe deserves its own native
Lojban(ic) word; and, if we go with that, probably all conic sections do
(we would be missing only a few more, depending on semantics). I am not
sure that it deserves a gismu, but we could use the traditional
gismu-generating algorithm in order to generate strings which we then riff
on in order to create a pleasing and acceptable zi'evla.
