Discussion of "cau'i"
[parent] [root]
Jonathan (Thu Jul 16 02:08:40 2015)

I found a example case where cau'i has a use besides being a mere
shortening of ju'ocu'i: the second "va'i" definition of mi'oi: (mi
jo'u do jo'u cau'i lo drata be mi e do
). What I needed was something that
was elliptical between ja'ai and nai, and could mean either or both.
ju'ocu'i won't quite work here, cause I am very certain about desiring
the ambiguity!

It was previously rendered as mi jo'u do jo'u ka'ebo lo drata be mi e do,
but I'm not sure ka'e means what we want it to mean here.

Specifically, because ka'e means potential possibility, cumki; not "yes
or no".
