Discussion of "noi'i"

Curtis W Franks (Thu Dec 25 02:42:28 2014)

Normally, I would want to keep up the parallelness that exists between
poi and noi, po'e and no'e, pe and ne, po'oi and no'oi,
etc. But poi'i already exists and is apparently without the option for
such a duality, so this word was basically safe. On the other hand,
treating this construct as a relative phrase is not a necessary
interpretation, and the "restrictive"-"nonrestrictive" duality is not
really extendable to it.
