The quickest answer is that everything below species is definitely a cmene (jutsi2). Should we map class Mammalia to mabru and Animalia to danlu? Just for the record, I knew that those words decomposed that way; I quoted it because I did not want to think to much about how to transcribe the basic word more properly into Lojban, but I still wanted to raise the point concretely.
