Discussion of "to'ai"

Comment #1: Drag-and-Drop Conversion for nth Slot, n > 5.
Curtis W Franks (Sun Sep 9 17:12:42 2018)

Let us say that I have a brivla with more than five sumti slots and I want
to drag-and-drop (convert) one of them - the first, second, or nth (with n
> 5) - to the first slot. My natural instinct is to take this word and
subscript it. Would this work?

If so, how does the counting work? In particular, where does the counting
start? I would say that "to'ai xi n(y)" would yield:
n | new first slot
-1 | x_1 <- (re'au'e)
0 | x_2 <- (se)
+1 | x_3 <- (to'ai)
+2 | x_4 <- (vo'ai)
+3 | x_5 <- (xo'ai)
+4 | x_6
+5 | x_7
... | ...
n | x_(n+2)

That is, for integer subscript n > -2, "to'ai xi n" drags-and-drops the
(n+2)nd sumti slot into the first position.

Comment #2: Re: Drag-and-Drop Conversion for nth Slot, n > 5.

Why offset by 2? Just as se has default implicit subscript 2, and
sexixa swaps x1 and x6, I would say to'ai = to'aixici and work from
there.

I generally like to start counting at some language-universal value, but I
am actually okay with your suggestion, upon reflection.
