Discussion of "smela"
[parent] [root]
Comment #2: Why gismu for this?
Andrew Piekarski (Sat Apr 16 12:34:02 2011)

It seems to me that if we were to have experimental gismu, they should
follow tha same rules as applied to the creation of the standard gismu:
i.e. either for really basic words, or for commonly-used words. "Peach
tree" hardly fits into either category!

Comment #3: Re: Why gismu for this?
najrut (Sun Apr 17 12:10:37 2011)

There is a discussion page where there it's suggested that there could be
such gismu (by Adam and phma).

I guess that genus Prunus is as important as plise or perli.
And I want to create similar definition.
I really don't know whether it should be "tree" or "fruit"
plise is defined as
x1 is an apple [fruit] of species/strain x2.
perli as
x1 is a pear [fruit] of species/strain x2.

So as these definitions are about fruits then "smela" should also be
fruit.

I agree if you want to change to
"x1 is a plum/peach/cherry/apricot/almond/sloe [fruit] (genus Prunus) of
species/variety x2"

Please reply.
