To improve the quality of results, jbovlaste search does not return words with insufficient votes. To qualify to be returned in search results, a proposed lujvo is required to have received a vote in favor in both directions: for instance, in English to Lojban and in Lojban to English.

In addition, due to it being a very technically hard problem, full text searching (that is, searching of definitions rather than just keywords) is not available at this time.

From Lojban to Swedish :

        Word: fertis [jbovlaste]
        Type: cmevla
Gloss Word: Jungfrun in the sense of "stjärnbild/stjärntecken"
  Definition: x1 är Jungfrun (stjärnbild/stjärntecken).
Notes: Från ferti. Grekerna och romarna associerade Jungfrun med
deras vetegudinna, Demeter-Ceres som är moder till
Proserpina-Persephone. Därför blev stjärnbilden associerad med
fruktbarhet (i både Babylonien, Grekland och Rom). Alternativt

From Lojban to English :

        Word: fertis [jbovlaste]
        Type: cmevla
Gloss Word: Virgo in the sense of "constellation/astrology"
Definition: x1 is Virgo [constellation/astrological sign].
Notes: From ferti. The Greeks and Romans associated Virgo with their
goddess of wheat, Demeter-Ceres who is the mother of
Proserpina-Persephone. For this reason the constellation became
associated with fertility (in both Babylonia, Greece and Rome).
Alternatively, she was sometimes identified as the virgin
goddess Iustitia or Astraea, holding the scales of justice in
her hand as the constellation Libra. Since ferti in lojban
covers both potential and actual/realized fertility, the
original meaning of the constellation have been chosen, but you
could probably still interpret the name in both senses (as a
deity of fecundity or as a fertile virgin).
