Agreed that be'ei sounds a lot like that xau.

Yep... to be sure there are important differences; but I think the differences only make be'ei seem more useful, capturing a specific, commonly used sense of the English word "for". On the other hand, the sense of xau/seva'u that be'ei doesn't cover, e.g. "It rained, which is good for me", seems rare enough that seva'u probably isn't too long. *shrugs*

But be'ei can mean either seva'u or fi'o se xlali.
