I think that the sefinution should explicitly state that this quantity has at least a connotation of being positive (strictly greater than 0).
Moreover, there may be times when it should actually assume a more general sense of positiveness. This positiveness maybe should mean being strictly greater than the identity of a given operation. For example, in multiplication, being greater than 0 does not mean much, but being greater than 1 means a lot. So, if only so'u is being multiplied by or with a number, perhaps it should only refer to quantities that are strictly greater than 1.
