Discussion of "ladjvestagycti"

Comment #1: This definition is fucked up beyond all recognition
Wuzzy (Sun Sep 15 16:19:16 2013)

This definition is so damn wrong:
1. A “lacto-vegetarian” is a person who drinks _milk_ and eats
vegetables but not meat and eggs. Yet the definition says that a
lacto-vegetarian eats eggs.
2. x2 mixes the ladru2 place with the stagi2 place. This means this
definition considers “the source of milk” and “the edible part of
some plant” to be equivalent o_O. Why? I have no idea how x2 could
reasonably be filled and it does not make any sense to me either.
3. (trivial) The link to ovo-vegetarian should be written
“sovjvestagycti”, not “sodjvestagycti”.

I fixed no. 3 since it was trivial but I am still unsure how to fix no. 1
and no. 2. Maybe I’ll come back to it later.

Indeed, that's pretty odd since the word literally means
'milk-and-vegetable-eat".

I'd say that's just a definition quirk. The lacto-vegetarian eats both,
but it is not the case that what the lacto-vegetarian eats is both milk
and a vegetable.
The becomes clearer if we define the word in Lojban, and whether we
include an x2 (which in my opinion we shouldn't.)
ladjvestagycti = x1 citka lo stagi .e po'o lo ladru (no other places; uses
the E connective)
ladjvestagycti = x1 citka x2 noi stagi gi'a ladru (contains an x2,
requires an A connective.)
